Everything was perfect from start to finish. Boy was so kind, friendly, and professional, and he explained everything so clearly throughout the day. He made me feel very comfortable and took such amazing pictures of me — I really appreciated that! 😊 The ride was also very comfortable, and the whole experience was smooth, enjoyable, and well organized. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Highly recommend Joy and Boy — thank you so much for such a wonderful experience! ❤️Posted on Google The Gilded WanderersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you’re looking for an exceptional tour guide in Northern Thailand, look no further than Joe and Boy Travel! Joe took our group of seven on four amazing tours throughout Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, and every day exceeded our expectations. Our group ranged in age from 11 to 80 years old, and Joe made sure everyone was included and comfortable. He was incredibly flexible, adjusting the itinerary when needed so we could enjoy the experience together at our own pace. One thing that truly sets Joe apart is his talent behind the camera. Not only is he an outstanding guide, but he’s also an incredible photographer and videographer. He captured moments we would have never thought to take ourselves, giving us memories we’ll treasure for years to come. (Check out the videos below!) Our driver also deserves recognition. He made every trip comfortable by keeping the van at the perfect temperature, turning on the air conditioning when we needed it and switching it off during our chilly mountain-top visit. He always had cold bottled water waiting for us and happily made impromptu restroom stops whenever anyone needed one. From breathtaking temples and mountain views to local culture and hidden gems, every tour was well organized, informative, and stress-free. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I wholeheartedly recommend Joe and Boy Travel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. Whether you’re traveling with young children, seniors, or a large family group like ours, you’ll be in excellent hands. We can’t thank Joe and his team enough for helping create memories that will last a lifetime!Posted on Google Soora WiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had the pleasure of meeting and touring Chiang Mai with Boy for 2 days. Boy provided an excellent local viewpoint of various sites, including Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, and Doi Inthanon National Park. Boy is very friendly, knowledgeable, and conscientious of our interests and comfort. His private tours are highly recommended and is a great resource in Chiang Mai!!Posted on Google Sarah RuddTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Boy was recommended by some friends, so my son and I booked the Doi Inthanon day with him. It was easy to communicate with him, and we used the Wise app for a deposit. Despite the clouds at the top of the mountain, we had a beautiful day in the National Park. The nature walks/hikes at both the highest peak and on the Pha Doc Siao trail were perfect. Boy gave us time to pause and enjoy the incredible surroundings, and he was very knowledgeable about local history and nature. Boy provided lunch along the trail in a local restaurant in the Mae Klang Luang Village (with the Karen tribe). The food was easily some of the very best we've had in Thailand. We finished with some coffee. The day was perfect, even with uncertain weather. Boy's hospitality, knowledge, professionalism and kind personality along with his very nice car and attention to detail, made for a wonderful day exploring Thailand. He demonstrated great respect for both creation and people. And it was an honor for us to learn about Thailand from him. Thank you Boy!Posted on Google Laura MarchouTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring Doi Inthanon with Boy. Not only is he an excellent guide, but he is also a very safe and professional driver. Throughout the entire trip, we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Boy shared so much interesting information about the park, the local culture, and the area, which made the experience even more meaningful. He was always attentive to our needs, thoughtful, and genuinely dedicated to making sure we had the best possible day. What touched us a lot was seeing how much he cares about supporting the local communities living in the park. It was clear that this is something very important to him. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish and would highly recommend Boy to anyone visiting Doi Inthanon. We would also gladly book another tour with him elsewhere in Northern Thailand. Thank you for such a memorable day!Posted on Google Brad NitschneiderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you want to have a deep and personal experience of Thai culture and people, join Joe and Boy for their tours. Their tours are friendly, fun and fantastic! Learning with Boy is a joy and being with Joe puts you in the Thai flow. So far, I've taken two tours with Joe & Boy Travel: 1) the Chiang Mai Old City temple tour with Boy, and 2) the three-part all day temple + elephant sanctuary + Sticky Waterfall hike experience with Joe. Both tours were marvelous and memorable. Both Boy and Joe are teachers with a passion for educating others about history, culture, language and Buddhism. Two of the top highlights from my tour with Boy were: 1) doing a traditional Songkran ritual to bring blessings into the new year, and 2) learning about how the Buddha was supported in his enlightenment by Phra Mae Thorani, the Earth Mother goddess who washed away the demon Mara and his army who were intending to distract Buddha from his state of meditation. Here are three of the highlights from my tour with Joe: 1) his wise and practical words about not bothering oneself with thinking about abstract concepts or wondering about supernatural beings from different dimensions, 2) his careful and nurturing presence during our time together, 3) his excitement about sharing his knowledge about Buddhism and Thai/Lanna/SE Asian history and culture. If you're looking to develop a deep and lasting connection to Thai culture and people, then go on a tour (or many tours!) with Joe and Boy. If you want to head down a superficial touristy path, then there are lots of good tour guides for that too. Thank you Joe and Boy for making my time in Thailand such a beautiful experience. I now feel a more wholehearted connection to Thailand and Thai people. Khàawp-khun mâak khráp.Posted on Google Hanka KunaskovaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ขอบคุณมากค่ะ 💛🙏Posted on Google Michelle and Adam WebberTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Joe was an absolute treasure!!! As a family of 4, with 2 teenage boys, he tailor made our 2 days with him to suit our physical ability, varying dietary needs as well as our interests. Joe arranged a fabulous balance of exploring nature, cultural information and hands on wildlife activities. He was enthusiastic throughout, sharing his broad knowledge, sense of humour and even great taste in music! The added bonus to it all was that Joe took fabulous photos for us along the way and we now have amazing memories to go with the experiences themselves. We couldnt find any fault with Joe. He was punctual, polite, friendly and even managed to get the boys to smile and join in with (almost) everything. We would highly recommend Joe for anyone touring in or around Chiang Mai - and I'm sure he'd go further afield if you wanted him to!! (Photos are those that I took of Joe when he was getting stuck in with us, which was great, and some he took for/of us, and places we visited)Posted on Google Richard y CesarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our time in Chiang Mai was nothing short of magical, thanks to our incredible guide and driver, Joe. From the first moment he greeted us with a warm smile, we knew we were in great hands. Joe didn’t just drive us — he crafted an experience filled with meaning, connection, and heart. One of the most moving mornings of our trip was when Joe guided us through the sacred ritual of offering food to the monks at sunrise. He explained every step with such care and respect, making sure we understood the significance. Standing quietly in the golden light, being blessed by the monks afterward, felt deeply personal — a memory we’ll carry forever. Joe then brought us to the elephant sanctuary, a place he chose for its genuine focus on care and conservation. He made sure we had time to connect with the elephants in a calm, respectful way — feeding, walking beside them, and learning about their rescue stories. It wasn’t rushed or touristy; it was soulful and unforgettable. Throughout the day, Joe shared stories about northern Thai culture, Buddhism, and everyday life in Chiang Mai. He took us to local spots for khao soi and fresh fruit smoothies, always making sure we experienced the real flavors of Thailand. Every stop felt intentional and personal. What truly sets Joe apart is his kindness. He treated us not as tourists, but as friends. His laughter, humility, and patience turned our time together into something extraordinary. If you’re visiting Chiang Mai, ask for Joe. You’ll leave with incredible memories — and the feeling that you’ve truly experienced the heart of northern Thailand. 5 stars — unforgettable guide and human being.Posted on Google Sam McDermottTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked the National Park and Terraced Rice Field Trip and had an absolutely amazing experience! Our guide, Wuthikorn, was excellent - very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful throughout the whole day. The itinerary was well planned and covered so much - from the impressive Wachirathan Waterfall and the highest point of Thailand to the beautiful royal twin pagodas. The highlight for us was definitely having lunch in the hill tribe village at Pa Pong Piang, surrounded by breathtaking terraced rice fields. It felt peaceful and authentic, and the food was delicious! The private SUV was new and very comfortable, and everything was perfectly organized - all admission fees, tickets, lunch, and drinks were included, which made the trip stress-free. We left at 8 a.m. and got back to our hotel around 5:45 p.m., feeling so satisfied and full of great memories. Highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Chiang Mai, especially during the rice season (mid-July to early November)
